How to update Tali

Keeping your Tali AI product on the latest version

Updating to the most current TALI AI version is important to keep up with the latest changes to the AI. Updating your version takes only a few minutes.

Choose your platform below to get started

Chrome Extension Update

By default, your browser will keep extensions up to date automatically. You generally do not need to manually update extensions.

To check you're on the current version of Tali AI:

  1. Open your Extensions in your Chrome Browser by typing chrome://extensions/

  2. Scroll down to find Tali AI, and click the "Details" box

  3. The version is the second item listed on the page

If you are not on the current version, use the following instructions to manually update:

  1. Open your Extensions in your Chrome Browser by typing chrome://extensions/

  2. Click on the toggle beside “Developer mode”

  3. Click on the “Update” Button that appears

  4. All Chrome Extensions will be updated

  5. Click on the toggle beside “Developer mode” and exit

Windows Desktop Update

When Windows updates are turned on, Tali can automatically update with other programs on your desktop.

If you are not allowing automatic updates, you will have to uninstall and and re-install Tali using the following instructions:

NOTE: Uninstalling Tali will NOT delete your Tali history or your account information

  1. Uninstall Tali AI by following Microsoft’s instructions to Uninstall or remove apps and programs in Windows

  2. Download the Windows Desktop Platform from https://tali.ai/install

  3. A file called “tali-setup.exe” will download

  4. Double click the file downloaded to install Tali

  5. A progress bar will appear until it’s done installing and the program will automatically launch

  6. To turn on automatic app updates to receive the latest changes in Tali - refer to Microsoft Support article Turn on automatic app updates

Mac Desktop Update

Normally, the application should update itself. You generally do not need to manually update applications. You can check the version number by:

  1. Launch and log into Tali

  2. On your menu bar, navigated to Tali > About Tali

  3. A small dialog box will open, showing the version number.

If you are not on the current version, use the following instructions to manually update:

  1. Uninstalling Tali will NOT delete your Tali history or your account information

  2. Locate Tali AI, then click and drag it to the Trash Can on the Dock.

  3. Empty the Trash Can.

  4. Download the MAC Desktop Platform from https://tali.ai/install

  5. Open Finder from the bottom left of your Mac's Dock.

  6. Go to your Downloads from the left menu.

  7. Double-click the file downloaded from Tali and the app will install

  8. The app will appear in the Applications folder in Finder.

Mobile App (Apple) Update

  1. Open the App Store.

  2. Type “Tali AI” into the Search bar

  3. If an “UPDATE” button appears beside Tali’s name, click it to update

  4. If an “OPEN” button appears beside Tali, you are on the current version

  5. Close the App Store
