Troubleshooting recording and note generation
Audio and microphone
-
Check browser permissions: Ensure the website has permission to access your microphone.
-
Test your hardware: Verify your microphone is picking up sound by using a tool like webcammictest.com.
- Reset the connection: If the correct mic is selected but not working, try swapping to a different microphone and then selecting your preferred one again.
-
Fix microphone quality issues on Windows:
If Tali sometimes does not record despite the microphone being on and selected, or the audio sounds distorted:
-
In the Start menu, open Settings → System → Sound.
-
Click More sound settings.
-
Under Input, select your microphone and click Properties.
-
Go to the Advanced tab and uncheck “Signal Enhancements”.
-
Test Tali again.
-
Computer settings
-
Prevent sleep mode: Ensure your computer does not go to sleep or enter power-saving mode during a recording by extending the sleep timer.
-
Keep the window open: Do not close or refresh the Tali recording tab while a session is active.
Missing notes
-
If you receive a generation error, check the History section in Tali to see if the note was saved there. Learn more about recovering notes.
-
If the note is missing, please report the bug via the in-app chatbot or contact us.
