Troubleshooting recording and note generation

Audio and microphone

  • Check browser permissions: Ensure the website has permission to access your microphone.

  • Test your hardware: Verify your microphone is picking up sound by using a tool like webcammictest.com.

  • Reset the connection: If the correct mic is selected but not working, try swapping to a different microphone and then selecting your preferred one again.
  • Fix microphone quality issues on Windows:

    If Tali sometimes does not record despite the microphone being on and selected, or the audio sounds distorted:

    1. In the Start menu, open SettingsSystemSound.

    2. Click More sound settings.

    3. Under Input, select your microphone and click Properties.

    4. Go to the Advanced tab and uncheck “Signal Enhancements”.

    5. Test Tali again.

Computer settings

  • Prevent sleep mode: Ensure your computer does not go to sleep or enter power-saving mode during a recording by extending the sleep timer.

  • Keep the window open: Do not close or refresh the Tali recording tab while a session is active.

Missing notes

  • If you receive a generation error, check the History section in Tali to see if the note was saved there. Learn more about recovering notes.

  • If the note is missing, please report the bug via the in-app chatbot or contact us.
