Call from Tali: How to Call a Patient from Tali
With Call from Tali, you can call patients directly from Tali and turn the conversation into an encounter note without leaving your workflow.
This feature is currently in beta and available to select users.
How to place a call
Open a new encounter in Tali the same way you would for an in-person visit, then click Call a patient.

Enter the patient’s phone number and click Call.

Once the call connects, continue your phone visit as usual while Tali generates a live transcript of the conversation.
You will see the call status as Connected and Live transcription: Listening, indicating that Tali is actively capturing the conversation.
The transcript appears in the Transcript for note generation section. Tali labels the clinician and patient portions of the conversation to support more accurate note generation.
Call controls
Mute: Mute yourself during the call as needed.
Hang up: Click Hang up to end the call.

After the call
Once the call ends, you can review the transcript and make any edits or add notes as needed.
Make sure you have selected the correct template for the visit. Use the Templates and Forms dropdown to choose the appropriate template.
Click Generate Encounter Note to create a note for the phone visit.

Review and send to EMR
As with your regular Tali workflow, you can review the generated note, make any edits, and send it to your EMR with one click.
Generate additional documents
You can also use the Generate button to create additional documents for the same visit, such as referral letters, patient summaries, and more.

Note: If you use Tali integrated with your EMR, you can send notes directly to your EMR in one click instead of copying and pasting. Check here to see whether Tali is integrated with your EMR and how to enable the integration.
